Hello Gizmoshark,
Allergy tests are a last resort. Vets are experts by default in ruling out causes of itching. Take her to the vet and see what may be the cause and let me know what is found.
If she is leaking in her sleep then yes, hormonal incontinence is usually the cause. Phenylpropanolamine will work for that and is safe to use long-term so a refill is advised.
I'll talk about this in the next podcast (which will be much shorter...) Thank you! I'll work on the e-mail thing too...

My husband & I live in Hong Kong with our two newly adopted tabby kittens, male and female, siblings, about 4 months old. What is the youngest age that you spay and neuter a kitten? A vet here told me they should be 6 months. That the male needs testosterone for his penis to mature otherwise he might have problems with infections later in life. My worry is that she will come into estrus prior to the six month date, I have no problems terminating a pregnancy but I just don’t want to go there. The vet further stated that kittens de-sexed at a young age sometime grow small non-active genitalia. This vet is from Australia. He intimated that vets from the States de-sex too early. I have had two male cats that were de-sexed at 2 lbs. They had no problems. I have also noticed that my male cat has a musk smell that I find offensive. Should I have him bathed at a groomer? My guess is that the odor will return. Having phoned several other locations such as the SPCA (they would do it at 5 months) his opinion of age de-sexing is held by other vets as well. What is your opinion?

I find your casts informative, enjoyable and will continue to downlaod and listen. Thank you.
